about

20th Century F*xes
24-hour gig at The Duke’s Playhouse, Lancaster
16th-17th April 2004

Jon Turner – Keyboards & vocals
Mike Bannon – Bass & vocals, guitar (Guitar on The Passenger)
Dave Mellett – Guitar, keyboard & vocals (Bass on The Passenger)
John Bibby – Drums

Also sometimes:
Melvyn Dodd – Trumpet
Helen Rowe – Backing Vocals (Lead vocal on Diet)
Gill Davies – Backing Vocals

From midday on 16th April to midday on 17th April 1984 The 20th Century F*xes played a 24-hour benefit gig for The Duke's Playhouse in Lancaster.
The stipulation that the band agreed on was that at least one member of the band had to be on stage at any given moment, so there was a lot of random jamming going on through the night in particular but this is the best of the 24 hours, concluding with a great version of Iggy Pop's 'The Passenger', one of only two cover versions the band played, the other being an impromptu version of the Au Pairs 'Diet' featuring Helen Rowe on lead vocal.
This was the final iteration of the band, with John Bibby returning to play drums for the final gigs.
This was the last gig The 20th Century F*xes ever played.

NOTE: Sadly, I have had to delete our covers of the Au Pairs 'Diet' and Iggy Pop's 'The Passenger' as Bandcamp's terms and conditions stipulate that no covers are allowed.

EXTRA NOTE: The bonus track, 'Places', was recorded at an earlier rehearsal for the show.
